If My Licence Application Is Deferred, What Is The Maximum Duration Of The Temporary Deferred Permit While I Complete The Required Conditions?

A deferred permit may be issued to the applicant for a maximum period of one (1) year from the date of the deferred decision letter. The permit is issued in 3-month intervals and can be renewed up to 4 times only.

What Does It Mean If My Business Licence Is Approved With Conditions? 

Applicants may collect their business licence at the Licensing & Entrepreneur Development Department Counter (Wisma MBS & Nilai Branch) by bringing:

  • A copy of the business licence approval letter (can be printed via MBSClick)
  • A copy of the support letter from the relevant departments, e.g., Fire Department, Police, Building Control Department, MBS & Environmental Health
  • Department, MBS (refer to the conditions in the approval letter)
  • Business licence payment (as stated in the approval letter)

How Long Is The Processing Period For A Business Licence Application?

  • The processing period is 30 working days, with the outcome being Approved/Deferred/Rejected.
  • Applicants may check their application status via MBSClick after 30 working days.
  • A Certificate of Operation will be issued within 45 days for businesses not eligible for immediate licensing. Applications will be tabled in a meeting within 30 days from the date of a complete application.
