This hospital commenced construction in 1969 and became officially operational in 1972. It is located 3km from the city centre. Its original name was Seremban General Hospital. On 27 July 2006, the name change ceremony was officiated by the Yang DiPertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan, Tuanku Ja'afar Ibni Almarhum Tuanku Abdul Rahman. Columbia Asia Medical Centre, Seremban, was built to accommodate changes to the Seremban community. It was opened in 1998 and is one of the user-friendly medical facilities in Seremban Town.

The Seremban Specialist Hospital is under the administration of Kumpulan Perubatan Johor (KPJ). It is located at Jalan Sungai Ujong, Kemayan Square, 4 km from the city centre. It first became operational on 7 January 2006.
