Penang, 12 September 2026 – The Seremban City Council (MBS) secured fifth place in the Local Authority Star Rating System (SPB-PBT) and successfully maintained its 5-Star rating for the third consecutive assessment in the City Council category. Despite the introduction of a new evaluation format, MBS has continued to uphold its 5-Star status since 2022. The achievement was announced during the 2026 National Local Authority Convention (PBT) and World Environmental Health Day Celebration, which was officiated by the Chief Minister of Penang, YAB Tuan Chow Kon Yeow, accompanied by the Minister of Housing and Local Government (KPKT), YB Tuan Nga Kor Ming, at Bertam Resort, Penang. The two-day event, held from 12 to 13 September 2026 under the theme *“MADANI Synergy – Sustainable Local Authorities, Harmonious Environment”*, serves as a platform to strengthen cooperation between the Federal Government, State Governments, and Local Authorities, while enhancing the role of local authorities as the frontline service providers to the public. The programme was also attended by YBhg. Dato’ Ir. Ts. Haji Masri bin Baharuddin, Mayor of the Seremban City Council; Ir. Ts. Br.
