Medan, 9 September 2026 – Seremban City Council (MBS) has received the Silver Award in the Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) category at the 1st IMT-GT Green City Award 2026, organised by the Centre for Indonesia-Malaysia-Thailand Growth Triangle (CIMT). The award was presented by His Excellency Thanadit Raktabutr, Deputy Minister, Office of the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand, on 9 September 2026 at the JW Marriott Hotel, Medan, Indonesia. The award was received by YBhg. Dato’ Ir. Ts. Haji Masri bin Baharuddin, Mayor of Seremban City Council, accompanied by TPr. Hj. Nazri bin A. Ghani, Director of the MBS Development Planning Department. This recognition reflects MBS’s continued commitment and efforts in strengthening the sustainable urban development agenda, particularly through the integration of education, awareness and sustainability practices within the community. The recognition also takes into account the implementation of various sustainability initiatives and projects carried out comprehensively and continuously by MBS, in line with the aspirations and direction of the Seremban Climate Action Plan 2035. This achievement serves as a catalyst for MBS to further strengthen its green and low-carbon city initiatives, while enhancing regional cooperation towards creating cities that are smarter, greener, more resilient and sustainable.
