Penang, 13 September 2026 – The Seremban City Council (MBS) achieved another outstanding accomplishment by winning two awards at the 2026 Local Authority Convention: Champion for the Best Local Authority in Cashless Payments Award 2026 and Third Place for the Highest Increase in Cashless Transactions Award. The awards were presented by YB Datuk Hajah Aiman Athirah Binti Sabu, Deputy Minister of Housing and Local Government, during the 2026 National Environmental Health Day Celebration organized by the Ministry of Housing and Local Government (KPKT) in Kepala Batas, Penang. The event was held under the theme "MADANI Synergy – Sustainable Local Authorities, Harmonious Environment." The awards were received by YBhg. Dato’ Ir. Ts. Haji Masri bin Baharuddin, Mayor of Seremban. Also present at the prestigious ceremony were Ir. Ts. Br. Mohd Kamal bin Mohd Yusof, MBS Secretary, Heads of Departments, and MBS officers. These achievements reflect MBS’s commitment to strengthening digital technology in delivering services to the community, in line with the goal of developing Seremban into a Smart City by 2027.
