Seremban, 9 August 2026 – The Seremban City Council (MBS) organized the Open Netball Championship for the Seremban City Council Mayor's Cup 2026, which was held from 8 to 9 August 2026 (Saturday and Sunday) from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Negeri Sembilan Sports Complex, Paroi. The prize-giving ceremony was officiated by YBhg. Dato' Ir. Ts. Haji Masri bin Baharuddin, Mayor of Seremban City Council, accompanied by Datin Hajah Nor Azian binti Dato' Mohd Nordin, Council Member, Mr. Saiful Azuar bin Ahmad Jadi, Director of Community Development and Tourism of MBS, as well as Heads of Departments and Heads of Units of Seremban City Council. This year's championship received an overwhelming response, with a total of 27 teams from within and outside Negeri Sembilan participating in the competition to vie for the championship title. For the prize category, the Champion team took home a Challenge Trophy, a Rolling Trophy, medals, and cash prizes totally RM3,000.00. The title was won by MJL from Kuala Lumpur. Meanwhile, the Runner-up team received medals and cash prizes amounting to RM2,000.00. The title was secured by KL Flash from Kuala Lumpur. The Third-Place team received medals and a cash prize of RM1,000.00, won by Knicks from Kuala Lumpur. The Fourth-Place team received medals and a cash prize of RM500.00, won by Twinkles from Kuala Lumpur. The organization of this championship is one of the initiatives undertaken by Seremban City Council to develop an active and competitive society while instilling the values of sportsmanship, discipline, and camaraderie among Malaysians in general and the people of Negeri Sembilan in particular. Seremban City Council also extends its highest appreciation and gratitude to all parties who were directly or indirectly involved in making the Open Netball Championship for the Seremban City Council Mayor's Cup 2026 a success.
