Seremban, 1 November 2026 – The Seremban City Council (MBS) has created another unique recreational attraction when YBhg. Dato’ Ir. Ts. Haji Masri bin Baharuddin, the MBS Mayor, has completed the symbolic release of catfish in conjunction with the Jom Ngail @ Dataran Seremban program. This program is launched as the first catfish casting activity of its kind in a city in Malaysia, bringing the experience of catfish fishing directly to the city center. This initiative makes Ngail@Dataran Seremban not just a fishing location, but a city recreation product that combines sports, recreation, community, and tourism. The catfish release by the Mayor is also symbolic of MBS's efforts to expand recreational activity options for the community, especially for anglers and casting sports enthusiasts. Interestingly, the concept proposed is "Catch & Release", which encourages responsible fishing practices and ensures the sustainability of fish resources in the pond. Based on the current promotion, casting enthusiasts can enjoy fishing experiences at RM50 / 6 hours plus RM10 / Hour. This promotion runs until 30 November 2026.
