Seremban, 27 January 2026 – Seremban City Council has carried out demolition operations on 2 premises on the public reserve, Jalan S2 B19 and Jalan S2B22, Seremban Trading Center 2, Seremban, Negeri Sembilan. For your information, MBS through the Department of Building Control has issued 2 14 days demolition notices to both premises from 2024 and 1 notice for 2025 however the owners of both premises still failed to comply with the demolition orders. Results from the results of the OSC Meeting Bill.9/2025 dated 7 May 2025 also decided that a 30-day premise vacancy notice be issued to the owners of the building dated 22 May 2025 against the 2 premises involved. The owner has applied an appeal for the postponement of the demolition works to MBS and MBS has given a stay until 31 December 2025. However, the owner still fails to comply with the instructions of the MBS notice. It is becoming an offence under Section 70 (1) of the Ditch Roads & Buildings Act 1974 (ACT 133) wherein no person can erect a building without obtaining written permission from the local authority as well as to become public obstruction and nuisance in accordance with the provisions of law under Section 46 (1) (a) and 86 (d) in the same deed. Besides that, it is also an offense under Section 425 of the Country Land Code (Act 828) which is encroachment of government land due to construction on public reserves. In this regard, MBS has taken the provision of demolition action after all the notices issued by MBS were denied. Following that, the vacancy notice for the demolition act was issued dated 15 December 2025 in accordance with the legal provision under Section 72 in the Roads, Drains & Buildings Act 1974 (ACT 133) which is an act of demolishing or relocation of unauthorized buildings. As a further notice, this operation is a continuation of enforcement work against unauthorized buildings within the MBS area. The demolition operation went smoothly and peacefully without any provocation from either side. The operation has been in collaboration with:
