Mural Completion & Appreciation Ceremony @ Nutriplus

Seremban, 2 October 2025 – The Seremban City Council (MBS), through its Department of Community Development & Tourism and the Department of Building Control, organized the Mural Completion & Appreciation Ceremony @ Nutriplus, held at Jalan Dr. Krishnan, Seremban. The ceremony was officiated by YBhg. Dato’ Ir. Ts. Haji Masri bin Baharuddin, Mayor of the Seremban City Council. Also present were Mr. Yap Chor Wen, Operations Director of Nutriplus representing Lay Hong Berhad; Tuan Ir. Ts. Br. Mohd Kamal bin Mohd Yusof, MBS Secretary; Ms. Azura binti Abu Hassan, Director of Community Development & Tourism; and Ms. Norhezlin binti Amat, Director of Building Control. This mural art campaign is part of Nutriplus’ “Taste and Colour” initiative, aimed at promoting local cuisine through visual art inspired by local culture, while encouraging community interaction. The mural, created by artist Yaulacap, highlights the rich cultural heritage of Negeri Sembilan. The background features Istana Ampang Tinggi, an architectural landmark inspired by Minangkabau design, while the foreground depicts a traditional cooking scene where a mother teaches her child to prepare masak lemak cili api with eggs — an iconic dish symbolizing the heritage and identity of the local community. The mural project began on 27 May 2025 and was completed on 31 May 2025, with a total allocation of RM40,000.00 fully sponsored by Nutriplus. Seremban, Negeri Sembilan was chosen as the first location for this mural campaign, supporting MBS’s efforts to beautify the city and promote the Visit Negeri Sembilan 2026 campaign. The highlight of the ceremony featured a symbolic signing of the mural by YBhg. Dato’ Ir. Ts. Haji Masri bin Baharuddin, Mayor of the Seremban City Council, and Mr. Yap Chor Wen to mark its completion. The event continued with the presentation of souvenirs and the distribution of Nutriplus eggs to attendees and members of the public in the vicinity. This project not only enhances the visual appeal of Seremban City but also celebrates Negeri Sembilan’s cultural heritage while strengthening ties between the private sector, local authorities, and the community.
