Seremban, 03 February 2026 - Seremban City Council (MBS) has held a Townhall session of the City Planning and Soft Launch of the 2026 Planning Seminar of the Seremban City council Level. This Townhall Program is an Initial Involvement Session of Strategic Cooperation between the Seremban City Council (MBS) and the Malaysian Institute Of Planners (MIP) to promote and strengthen professional development initiatives and knowledge sharing related to urban planning and sustainable development in Seremban. This collaboration will encourage exploration of other collaboration areas to increase awareness as well as build urban planning capacity that contributes to a more livable city in Seremban. In addition, this strategic collaboration is in line with the purpose of the Seremban City Council to hold a 2026 City Planning Seminar that will be held in Seremban in August. This Strategic Cooperation has taken place with the Signing Session of the Agreement of Understanding (MoU) by YBhg. Dato’ Ir. Ts. Hj. Masri bin Baharuddin, Mayor of the Seremban City Council and TPr. Hajah Mazrina binti Dato’ Abdul Khalid, President of the Malaysian Institute Of Planners (MIP). In that, a knowledge sharing session related to Artificial Intelligence (AI) in City Management was delivered by TPr. Dr. Muhammad Hakimi bin Mohd Hussain, Deputy Director, Research and Development Division, Department of Urban and Rural Planning of Peninsular Malaysia. Meanwhile, the Honorable Mayor of MBS has also completed the Launching Ceremony of the Seremban Smart and Low Carbon City Action Plan 2.0 (SSLCC 2.0). These improvements to SSLCC 2.0 reflect the Seremban City Council's ongoing commitment to ensure the implementation of the smart and low-carbon city initiatives are always relevant, progressive and in line with current needs. He also officiated the Townhall Program of the City Planning And Soft Launch of the 2026 Planning Seminar of the Seremban City Council Level which was also attended by TPr. Abdul Hamid bin Akub, MIP Vice President, a line of Council Members, TPr. Haji Nazri bin A. Ghani, MBS Development Planning Director, Department Heads and Unit Heads of Seremban City Council, developers, industry players and consultants.
