Seremban, February 5, 2026 - The Seremban City Council (MBS) has organized an Engagement Session with Restaurant Entrepreneurs in the Seremban district that started at 9.30 am in order to become a platform for discussion between the administration of the Council and the local food industry players. This program was attended by YBhg. Dato' Ir. Ts. Hj. Masri bin Baharuddin, Mayor of Seremban City Council together with YBrs. Tuan Ir. Ts. Br. Mohd Kamal bin Mohd Yusof, Secretary of Seremban Town Council, Mrs. Azura binti Abu Hassan, Director of Community Development and Tourism, Mr. Mohd Lotffee bin Haji Abdullah, Director Licensing and Entrepreneur Development and Mr. Hanizam bin Ahmad, Director of Law and Enforcement. As many as 12 restaurant entrepreneurs in the Seremban district have participated in this session among them Selero Negeri Restaurant, Aunty Aini’s Garden Café, Railway Rasah Curry Mee, Fisherman Restaurant, Nasi Kandar Angau, Kak Dah Nasi K andar Ori, Damsyik Arab Nasi Restaurant, Aladdin Senawang Arab Nasi, Nasi Lemak Mambau, Mama World Restaurant, Leh Pak Restaurant Seremban and Our Nine Lakes Site. This session is the first initiative carried out by MBS to listen to the views and complaints of restaurant entrepreneurs. Among the things discussed include the issue of license application, addition of the premises structure as well as the cleanliness and management aspects of trash bins. In parallel with the Mayor's speech, MBS asserted that the restaurant industry not only plays a role as a driver of the local economy, but is also an important component in shaping the image and identity of Seremban as a gastronomic tourism destination, especially in conjunction with the Year Melawat Negeri Sembilan 2026. Thus, close cooperation between the Local Authorities and restaurant entrepreneurs is essential to ensure aspects of compliance, hygiene, food safety and service quality are always at the best level. The restaurant entrepreneurs also expressed their appreciation and gratitude to the MBS administration for their willingness to listen to their concerns as well as MBS' continuous efforts in promoting local restaurants, including through the gastronomic tourism initiatives implemented to support the growth of the sector in Seremban. The Seremban City Council hopes that this engagement session can strengthen the strategic relationship with restaurant entrepreneurs and become a catalyst for the development of a more planned, competitive and sustainable food industry in order to make Seremban a clean, identical and tourist-friendly city.
