Townhall Program on Safe City – Blackspot Area Regularization Initiative 2025 with the Local Community

Nilai, 13 October 2025 – The Townhall Session for the Safe City Program – Blackspot Area Regularization Initiative 2025 with the local community was held at Dewan Pekan Nilai, attended by 95 participants including representatives from government and private technical agencies as well as the local community. The purpose of this program was to provide exposure and share information about the Safe City Program, one of the proposed social initiatives focused on the Blackspot Area Regularization for 2025, specifically in the areas surrounding Pekan Nilai, Taman Ros Merah, and Taman Nilai. The townhall session also featured briefings and sharing sessions from PLANMalaysia on Safe City Elements and a representative from IPD Nilai on Cybercrime (Phone Scam). The Seremban City Council (MBS) has received an allocation of RM500,000.00 from the Ministry of Home Affairs (KDN) Headquarters for the implementation of the Blackspot Area Regularization Program in Pekan Nilai, Taman Ros Merah, and Taman Nilai for 2025. The allocation covers several upgrading projects, including:

I. Installation of 7 units of Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) at hotspot locations: Jalan Menghala Sungai and Lorong Belakang, opposite Big Pharmacy, Petron Pekan Nilai, opposite Econsave Nilai, Nilai KTM Station, Nilai Health Clinic, and the traffic light junction at Persiaran Nilai Perdana.

II. Construction of a pedestrian walkway with guardrails around SJKC Kuo Min Nilai.

III. Installation of 9 units of Safety and Crime Awareness Signboards.

IV. Installation of 1 High Mast Streetlight to enhance lighting, particularly at night.

The closing ceremony was officiated by YBhg. Dato' Ir. Ts. Haji Masri bin Baharuddin, Mayor of MBS, along with MBS Council Members, Tuan Ir. Ts. Br. Mohd Kamal bin Mohd Yusof, MBS Secretary, and Heads of MBS Departments.
